Had been on my mind for ages to get, or even 'win' a proper digi camera, that's why I was betting hard on my lucky draw tickets last Thursday during a charity event held by one of our media agencies. Unfortunately, my 5 tickets landed me with none of the 2 Sony Cybershot cameras.
My sister's Rollei camera (Jeannie always say "Reg's Rollei", and it sound so funny!) was the only camera we been using for so long, and we are quite grateful to have that especially when it's a gift. However, the bad thing about this Rollei fellow is that though it may have a high resolution of 6 mega-pixel, it doesn't work so well when it is without flash. The pictures tend to turn out 'blurry', eventhough the photographer isn't shaky with his hands.
On Sunday, me & my mum were at the neighbourhood mall in Sembawang and chanced upon this little roadshow outside the mall. The cheap prices attracted me to take a second look, and I found out that they were good Fujifilm cameras on X'mas sale! The promoter was kinda 'pushing' one particular model to me, which in her opinion, was a good camera at a superb price. That one is a 10 mega-pixie, 5x optical zoom, face detection, 3" LCD screen and with wide angle shot. For those not so tech-savvy, these features are some of the critical expectations you would want out of a camera. And all that going for only $299!
The setback of this superb model, is that it is slightly heavy due to the optical lens (5x zoom, that's why!), and also it doesn't come in any fancy colours apart from the normal silver or black. Comparing this to another one that caught my eye, the latter was slightly inferior in terms of the optical zoom and had half an inch smaller screen. That doesn't matter so much to me, but rather the good points are what made my decision.. it is more sleek, weighing lesser, comes in more than 1 colour, user friendly, and has better freebies!
I am proud to introduce, my new toy - Fujifilm Fine Pix Z20 in glossy white! Have tested out its userabilty today at the office, and let the quality of the pics (not the contents? Hah!) take your breath away!!
