Pictures Galore!

This is so infuriating! I don't have all the beautiful pictures of ermmm.., ANYTHING! until my friends tagged me on Facebook, or out of pity, emailed me one or two pics that I still look reasonably fab.

That's all because I don't own a digital camera! Years back when I was still with my ex-boyfriend, I had always bugged him for 'permission' to buy one. Him, being a thrifty person, thought there was no real need for me to have a camera when he already own one. Thus, my yearning for a digital camera has been left hanging on all along..

I should have bought one myself after not together with him anymore, but such an IT-moron like me shouldn't be shopping for a tech-gadget alone! It is risky, coz I might just end up spending hundreds buying something which the dishonest salesmen are told to sell (the particular model might be obselete soon, or it may just have some defects in the batch so need to clear)!

Anyway, so much for complaining and blaming on others for not buying a camera.. here are some photos which I really like to share.. *Note: Only for age 21 and above, some nudity scenes. (hahahaha!!)

1) Jeannie's Sweet 30!
2) Kisses for the birthday girl!
3) J & Mama R - Can anyone believe we are 30?!
4) The finger loop of TRUST!

Front view of my stommie.. Normal looking.

First sight of my baby bump!

Look at the spillage over to my back.. Scary!

Last but not least, instruction to Papa D.. Please remember to bring your 10 megapixel digi cam in Oct!

What a Bash!

It was a one of a kind birthday bash that anyone would have loved to attend.. Imagine a party with all the girls chatting about the latest fashion, the most eye-catching hotties in town, their recent well-being and upcoming plans for the next gathering, etc, etc.. all these while having their hands and feet pampered with a nice manicure & pedicure!

The name of the party was Eight Ditzy Ladies, Ten Dainty Nails & Thirty Pretty Ruffles! Try deciphering what it means.. but fret not if u don't get it, as I am going to reveal the idea behind the theme right this very minute..

Eight Ditzy Ladies were the 8 girls who were there for the bash, Ten Dainty Nails means a pampering session for our 10 fingers & toes and lastly, Thirty Pretty Ruffles is the birthday girl looking all pretty in Ruffles at the age of 30! Lovely isn't it? We actually tried to steal the limelight by turning up in ruffles too, hahaha..

Jeannie hosted us (her best buds for over a decade!) last evening at a nail salon for her 30th birthday celebration. It was an exclusive event that the 8 of us have the whole place to ourselves, and the manicurists (6-7 of them) were all hands over us, heehee!!

It was a night of fun, laughter and swell pampering for us.. especially for me, as I ain't exactly 'able' to paint my own nails in my current stage. 3 other girls whom we have been classmates with, but not as close as our regular clique were sharing their stories, and enjoying the company as much as we do too!

The climax of the night came when we secretly got Jeannie's birthday cake lit and ready for the big song while she was away in the toilet.. She got a shock of course, but in the nice way. And in case the rest didn't notice (amidst the complete darkness), I did see a slight display of touched emotions in Jeannie's eyes.. we almost got her crying, girls!

The whole party wouldn't have gone so well if not for the dedicated manicurists at Fingerwork. Check out their website at http://www.fingerwork4you.com/. Thank you Melissa, and your girls who put customers in front of your own stomachs!

Jeannie's bash ended with a bang well over midnight, and all of us left Fingerwork with pretty fingers and toes; thanks to the birthday girl! This may sound corny, but we love you Jeannie and we hope u stay forever so pretty and happy!

In full anticipation now for the next bash to come.. Eileen's 30th party - 'Bouquet Me'!

D for boy, R for girl

There's this pact that me and Papa D made when we were always debating about the gender of little Junior.. He's so adamant that our baby is going a girl, just like how it was in his dreams. And for me, after having 2 adorable nephews in my family, I just know that Junior and his 2 cousins will be having balls of fun together.. and I really mean balls, FOOTBALL!

So, we agreed that if Papa D really feel that Junior is a girl, he should be the one naming her. But if Junior has a 'wee-wee', I will get to pick his name. With my nephews having their names following the first character of their parents, Papa D and I think we should do the same too. Hence, if Junior is a boy, he will have a name beginning with the letter 'D', and if otherwise, Junior's name will start with the letter 'R'.

My brother has this family free drawing in his notebook, which I am going to do a replica now..

ANNIE MUMMY
:
REGINA & DANIEL / JULIA & JERRY / JACKSON & JOLENE
:
BABY D or R / JAYDEN / JOAQUIN

My mum has this 'laughable' command of English, and it always amuses us when she give weird pronnounications of some day-to-day words. Just like when both Jayden and Joaquin were born, she actually read their names to become animals.. I am not joking! Guess what animals are my 2 darling nephews? Well, the answer is.. Jayden Boy is DRAGON, and little Joaquin is DOLPHIN! Incredible isn't it?
When I told everyone at home that if Junior is a girl, her name would be very likely to be Renaissance. (Papa D thought the name was very artistic and frenchie, and I felt the name sounds like one of a royalty) ANNIE MUMMY then re-pronnounced the beautiful name to DINOSAUR, and everyone broke down into hysterical laughter! God, she actually made little Junior a prehistorical animal!

Well, I may have to put extra consideration into Junior's name, as his/her grandma will be struggling if the name is too complex.. afterall, Junior won't have a Chinese name, so grandma better be able to pronnounce the name perfectly. Imagine her bringing little Junior to the market and telling the hawkers, "This is my grand-daughter, her name is DINOSAUR!" Faintzzzzz....

Little Junior is growing!

There is nothing like the happyness (please don't correct me, this is how it was spelt in Will Smith's 'The Pursuit of Happyness') I got right in my gynae's clinic just now..

The first good news was, I am finally cleared from the bleeding condition! Which means I am well enough to head back to my desk in 8 Shenton Way. Secondly, Dr Wee has said that little Junior is growing at an excellent rate! Can u believe my baby is now 3.51cm in length? The last scan (on 7th Aug) shows Junior was only 1.92cm long, and now see how fast he/she grows!

I am dying to show-off the pictures of little Junior, regardless how sucky the resolution is.. so, bear with me people and enjoy the first peek of my precious!

Look at the size of Junior's head.. my sis says it's normal.

Zoomed in slightly, so u can see Junior's little legs.

It is the most amazing experience to have the scan apparatus (like a plastic pounder) pressing and moving around my stomach, and then images of my baby will pop out on the monitor..

Halfway thru the scan, Dr Wee suddenly pointed his finger on the screen and told me I was looking at Junior's butt! Uncontrollably, I let out a giggle and thought to myself "what a nice little pair of buttocks!" At this juncture, it occured to me that wouldn't it be wonderful if Junior turns out to be a girl? She would be such a bootylicous babe, and master the 'generator-butt-shaking' moves which Mama R had always dreamt of learning..

Well, that aside for now.. It seems like both Junior and I are in good shape, and so I would only need to see Dr Wee in one month's time. I was given new vitamins to take after another 30 days intake of my current folic acid. Accordingly to my gynae, this latest vitamin (it was not even available during the time of my sis's & sis-in-law's pregnacy) is a multi-in-one kind of capsule.

With this, I do not need to take any other type of vitamins which is absolutely great; coz I simply hate swallowing pills! If they are not vitamins, u think I will willingly compromise?

Rainy Olympics

Wow, it seems like apart from being in the same time zone as us, Beijing also faces the same climate condition as we do here..

Over at the 'Bird Nest' stadium, the tracks are all wet and rain continues to pour while the track and field events take place. One Russian athlete had slipped in the moist sand when jumping to score a medal for his country! Well, after so many days of Olympics watching, of course I do know where all the good-looking sportsmen come from.. ermm, having said that, I do appreciate the sports they play as well, heehee!!

On the whole, USA has all the eye-candy, both girls and boys, both in the water (Michael Phelps) and on land (Gymnast Nastia Liukin).. It is funny to see how some atheletes have the required physique catered for the specific kind of sports they play. High, long, and triple jumpers are all tall and has the longest legs u ever seen. Weightlifters, wrestlers are of the average height, but always stout looking. Then the gymnasts, petite in frame (just like Papa D, hahahaha!) but their strong arms and legs can easily lift me off the ground and swing me in the air, like a cowboy whirling his whip!

I was watching the women's 800m, 2400m, and 10km marathon race with my mum the other day, when both of us spontaneously brought up our history of being long distance champions.. yes, both ANNIE MUMMY and me have been running during our school days, and have respresented our school in some of the major sports events. But looking at my mum now, and then myself, who would have believed our achievements in running years back?

Maybe I should start running again after giving birth? not in competitve events of course, but more like a leisure, keeping-fit kind of exercise rountine.. and I will grab ANNIE MUMMY to come along with me! When's the next BIG WALK now eh?!

Chocolates, a no-no??

Urghhh, illl!! my eyes are completely fixated at the pool of puke which contains half a packet of OREO bite-size waffle biscuits, that I had taken with glee 15mins ago..

How can that be possible? I did clearly enjoyed and savoured the chocolatey mini-waffles, and there was no sign of discomfort at any point of the intake. I suddenly remembered the same happening to me earlier this week when I was delightfully eating 2 pcs of bite-size (note I have been really cautious with my food purchases, and the virtue of not wasting food if I know I am not up to it!) chocolate ice-cream, only to have them all out in my 'vomit bucket' minutes later.
Could it be some kind of effect chocolates have on the expectant-me now? Gosh, if this is true; I wish I could just die right now. Taking chocolates away from me is as good as not giving milk to a baby! Yes, it is this serious!

It just makes no sense at all. Being labelled as actually a healthy food, chocolates help in lowering blood pressure and is a powerful antioxidant! It also contains many good nutrients such as calcium, iron, Vitamins A, B, D & E. Trust me, u would never feel like u could die after finishing a whole bar of SNICKERS/MARS!

I guess for the sake of myself (really sick of all that puking!) and little Junior, I better steer away from any chocolate until I cannot resist and succumb to temptation eventually..

Arghhh, the damn bucket with puke is still waiting for me to go wash it and deck with new napkins on the bottom..

Terrible First Trimester

Hi folks, I am back again! I know, it has been barely an hour half since my last post but I really have so much to make up for; especially when I wasn't in the pinkest of health for at least 1 month now.. for those who's aware of my pregnancy, u would have known that I was admitted to hospital some time back for bleeding and abdominal pains. The medical term for such a condition, as scary as it can sound, is called 'THREATENED ABORTION / MISCARRIAGE'. I was issued with hospitalization leave for all this while after being discharged, and the rule of thumb for this period of rest is to be completely rested in bed!

This seems like the ideal break from work for me, considering that I have always been a workaholic. But the truth is, no break has ever been so terrible and it comes tagged with endless sufferings! Exactly what I am talking about are the dreadful first trimester symptoms that a majority of expectant mums have to go thru. I was reading this parental guide book (compliments from my sis, whose baby is almost 4months old now) that has a list of 10 common pregnancy symptoms, and I scored a good 7 out of the 10! Morning sickness, frequent urination, abdominal cramps, fatigue, dizzy spells, u name it I got it.

Based on the online calculator from babycenter.com, I am about 9 weeks pregnant now. Extra information like Junior's due date is also provided, see below..

Due Date Calculator

Your baby will be born on or around
Friday, March 20, 2009.
You are about 9 weeks pregnant.

I am going to see my gynae for the 2nd time tomorrow, and I hope he will give me the go-ahead to go back to work coz I really need to get myself back onto track. Thinking of the pile of documents which are probably stacking on my desk, and the list of red in my email inbox, immediately makes me forget all my unwellness.. afterall there's no reason why Dr Wee will stop me, as my bleeding problem has completely vanished by now; thank God.

In case I forgot to mention, the lastest ailment that is bothering and irritating me so much is INSOMNIA. I have been only closing my eyes every night at 5am, and yesterday (or rather today), at 6am! That is really nuts, how can I toss and turn for so long and not being able to even snooze? So, I am officially issuing a warning.. don't be surprised if u see another post from me in the most unlordly hours u can ever imagine! Hahaha..

Raw Blogging..

FINALLY, my first-ever blog! I was still telling Rachel in the afternoon that an IT-moron like me, will most likely be resigned to writing a journal than a blog.. which is not a bad idea actually! Those notebooks at PRINTS are so, so pretty, that u wish u can buy every single one of them and write like u'r an octopus!

Well, I still have vivid memories of my school days when we were forced to pen down something everyday in an exercise book called 'JOURNAL', so as to improve our writing skills. (as if the words : 'eating', 'sleeping' and 'doing a poo' will earn us high points in compo writing!) Anyway, I decided, thou shall not be a lagger of technology and it is never too late to start blogging. Who knows one day I may be well writing like a professional blogger (think Xiaxue/Dawn Yang minus their bitching-about each other!), and be earning big bucks doing endorsements for sponsors!! Dream, dream, dream...
