Little innocent lives Part 2

When I first wrote "Little innocent lives" in June, I didn't have the intention to write a sequel post. Not until I watched the show "Unnatural" on channel 5, just aired on Tuesday.

I happened to miss a bit of the opening of the show which was about an unnatural death of a 4 year old toddler, caused by no one else but her own birth mother! Please brave yourself for this..

It was a story about a single mom, abandoned by the husband when she was caught cheating on him when her child was just a baby. She had left the baby crying alone in the living room when she was in bed with her adulterer. Ever since then, she has been nasty to her own child; blaming her for the plight they were in.

They had moved to a new apartment and apparently the mother is the least interested in making the house 'live-able' for the tod. Instead all she does all day is dolling herself up and going out to have fun and meet guys. There was this particular night when she got all dressed up again, leaving the hungry tod locked up in the apartment. She didn't even return home that night. The hungry tod was ransacking the whole house for edible items, and she could find nothing. She ended up eating newspapers, rolled into chewable ball-sizes. I'm sorry, but at this point of the show, I already broke down weeping for the poor girl. God forbids a living being to be mistreated like this, especially by her own birth mother!

The poor girl was wailing the whole day & night due to starvation. When the mother finally return the following afternoon/evening, the little girl was close to dying. She was lying on her little filthy mattress on the floor, and hardly moving when the mother came into the room. All that stone-hearted woman did when she saw her child, was screaming at her for soiling herself and started to hit her with a bat/rod until the little tod stopped moving. She had not only starved the child, but had killed her own flesh & blood with her own hands!

Although the show was only playing a re-enactment of what had happened, and the little girl was not the same girl who died; I was still very affected after the show. I felt so much for the little girl who died in the hands of her mother! It was so painstaking to see her eating newspaper when her mother was out gorging herself in delicious feasts. What kind of a parent is she? She is not fit to be a mother! Actually she don't even deserve to be alive and kicking in this world!

The show ended with a life account of a 25 year old Japanese mother, who had left her 2 children, aged 3 and 1 respectively, to die from starvation. She apparently locked the children in the apartment and stayed with her boyfriend for a while. When she eventually return, the children were already dead beside piles of rubbish which were believed to be their sources of food in the mother's absence.

This mother was arrested for child abuse, and was sentenced to 30 years of imprisonment. She still has a chance to live her life to an old age, but not the 2 poor children who couldn't even live past 3 years old..

I want to curse and throw my fists at this inhumane mother! How can she expect a 3 & 1 year old toddler to be taking care of themselves?! How can the elder one be making milk for the infant?! Obviously she did not think properly, or it might just occur to her that the children hinders her current lifestyle; hence she cannot be bothered.

Whatever reason it is, I just hope that justice will be served; and that the children will come back and haunt their irresponsible parents for the rest of their lives...
